Upcoming Pack Events

Pack 284 Calendar

Thank you for your interest in Cub Scout Pack 284, serving the West Seattle High Point area. We post our public, Pack-wide events on this page. Feel free to visit our Pack events to meet us and see what we do!

In addition to these events, each grade-level group or “Den” has monthly small-group Den Meetings. Once you’ve joined our Pack, Den meeting dates and details will be shared with you from your Den leader.

Pack Meeting and Pinewood Derby

Our next pack meeting will be Wednesday, March 20 2024, from 6:30pm – 7:30pm at Our Lady Guadalupe, Parish Hall.

At this meeting, we will also hold our annual Pinewood derby! Before the derby, scouts will transform their Pinewood Derby car kits–a block of wood, nails for axels, and plastic wheels–into a variety of inventive colors, shapes, and sizes. At the event, scouts will race their cars in heats until a single winner remains! This event gives scouts an opportunity to learn skills to construct their cars and also promotes friendly competition.

Summer Camp

This year, summer camp at Camp Edward will be August 8-11. More details to come!

Spring Camp

Scouts and their families will be heading to Kitsap Memorial State Park, April 17-19, 2024.

Located on the scenic Hood Canal shoreline, this park’s sunsets, grassy lawns and quaint Log Hall Heritage Area make it a popular park for weddings and picnicking. Enjoy the stunning views of the Olympic Mountain range while you kayak the Hood Canal or let the kids hang out on the playground.

The group campsite is self-contained with 2 Adirondacks; each with 8 wood sleep decks (no mattresses). It has a vault toilet, eight picnic tables, two barbecue braziers, a fire pit and one water spigot within the area. There is no electricity in the group camp area.

Scouts will participate in a TBD service project.

Scouting for Food

Blue and Gold Ceremony

This winter, scouts, families, and community members met for our annual dinner and celebration. This year, we celebrated scouting around the world with a multi-cultural potluck feast. A great time was had by all!

Winter Camp

Scouts and their families traveled to Camp Sheppard this February.

Winter camp at Camp Sheppard is a fun scouting experience for scouts in the Tiger den (first grade) or older. Scouts participated in hiking, ecology-conservation, BB guns, archery, and snow tubing, all in the beauty of the Mt. Baker Snoqualmie National Forest.
